The Three Bears
We all know the story about Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Especially the part about the porridge being too hot, too cold and just right.
Think of “just right” porridge as producing a sense of ease. It’s one of the most wonderful and desirable feelings.
When our minds are at ease, we are calm, resourceful and naturally creative. When our bodies are at ease, we sense everything is working as it should and we radiate strength and vitality. And when our spirit is at ease, we enjoy peace, joy and a sense of connectedness.
But when we lack ease it could be said that we are in a state of dis-ease. With time, dis-ease can turn into disease.
That’s what we notice when someone new consults our practice. They’ve lost their ease and they want it back. Since ease is a function of the nervous system, we know just where to look.
Is It Good or Bad?
It seems every week we hear something in the media about the dangers of eating, drinking or coming into contact with one substance or another. Wait long enough and there’s another study that extols its health benefits, such as bacon, eggs, high fat foods, carbohydrates, hot dogs, coffee, margarine, wine, wheat, fluoride, barbeque, tuna, and red meat.
Are they good? Are they bad? Not sure?
Consider this. For every person who has developed cancer or some other malady from one or more of these items, millions have not. In fact, many in their 80s, 90s or older claim their secret to longevity was the result of eating or drinking something we’ve been told is bad for us.
Kind of makes you wonder. Maybe it’s not the substances. Instead, maybe it’s our attitude, stress level, ability to adapt (nervous system integrity), the toxicity of our environment and a constellation of countless other issues at play.

Get the Message?
Many think chiropractic is about bones, especially the spine. But the fact is, we’re more interested in the nerves those bones protect. In particular, the nerve messages that travel between your brain and body.

Great article "Get the Message". I got it many years ago and when friends comment on their maladies I ask if they have ever been assessed by a chiropractor. Even those who have and say it 'did not work' usually only went for 1 or 2 appointments. I tell them of my experience about how I have been helped and continue to enjoy good health at age 82 all because of my regular visits to a chiropractor. Hope more people "Get the Message"!!
